We’re seeking a dynamic Business Development leader to expand our footprint in the Southeast particularly in Data centers, Industrial, Residential, Retail, Commercial markets. This is more than just managing clients; it’s about shaping growth, driving strategy, and being the face of our brand.
The Business Development Executive is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the Regional Vice President and responsible for growing our business and our reputation in Georgia and the surrounding region. This senior level role includes participating in and delivering the business generation strategy and assuming the responsibility for generating new business, while building our proposition and our capability within the market. Provides strategic leadership and coordinates the development and preparation of major proposals (where United is the sitework contractor), qualification statements, expressions of interest, presentations, and other business development materials.
What You’ll Do
• Be the face of growth – Manage existing client relationships while developing new ones across state general contractors, municipalities, and engineering sectors.
• Own the pipeline – Lead the acquisition, analysis, and utilization of client leads to keep opportunities flowing.
• Represent us with impact – Present the company at client meetings, forums, and national industry seminars.
• Drive strategy – Partner with the VP and CEO to develop and execute long-term marketing and business development strategies.
• Create visibility – Oversee the creation and publishing of marketing materials, proposals, press releases, presentations, and newsletters that get noticed.
• Shape our brand – Lead website organization and social media presence to showcase our expertise.
• Mentor & lead – Train and guide the BD/Marketing team, ensuring they grow right alongside the company.
• Travel with purpose – Meet clients face-to-face (yes, some overnight travel required).
• Deliver results – Respond to RFPs, craft compelling proposals, and track metrics that prove ROI.
• Be a trend spotter – Capture client needs and market shifts and translate them into smart solutions with executive leadership.
What You Bring
• A BA/BS in marketing, engineering, business or a related field.
• 10+ years' experience in generating new business/new client development in the commercial industry.
• 5+ years’ experience in producing accurate, compliant, and compelling proposals—independently and collaboratively in the commercial industry.
• Ability to track metrics and produce reports related to lead generation, proposal success and revenue results.
• Initiative, skill and personal commitment to managing multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up and bring projects to full completion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
